An improvisational piecing workshop utilizing three shades of gray to create unique borders and negative space around the main pieced “unit”, which is comprised of a graphic print and solids.
A 6 hour workshop.
Supply List:
- *Fabric squares – a minimum of 9 10 or 12”. (Note: We will be constructing a panel that is square so the student will choose between 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 squares per panel)
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Rotary cutter and mat
- Ruler to use with cutter
- Scissors
- Nippers (optional)
- Felt or batting to tape to wall for a design board (depending on the workshop setting)
- Extension cord recommended
- Pins
*I recommend a bold graphic print. Avoid small-scale prints for this workshop. Student may choose to use several prints that coordinate well with each other or one print-only. Everything looks good with gray!
