Description: This workshop is about acquiring skills for free-cutting with a rotary cutter. Students will learn several methods of free-cutting: free-form lines, convex and concave curves, and learn how to piece them. Students will create a variety of pieced units that may be used in one or more projects. Student should be confident using a rotary cutter.
Workshop Supplies Needed: 12-18 solid color cotton fat quarters, one yard solid black cotton fabric, rotary cutter, mat 12×18 preferred, scissors, nippers, thread for sewing machine, pins (optional), sketchbook and pen for notes (optional).
Room Requirements: Sewing machines, 2 irons and boards (minimum!), cutting mats and rotary cutters desired.
